Why is our web site so plain?

You didn't come here to be impressed by our graphic design and HTML layout skills. You don't need to wait for pretty graphics to download (well, except for that nice balloon picture at the top of the front page - we're kind-of partial to hot air balloons at UnitOOPS!). You'd probably prefer that we spend our time on writing quality software and components, rather than on building a spiffy web site. Most importantly, you want the information you came here to get, and we want to give it to you as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

For these reasons, we've chosen a simple text-based design with few graphics. Our only concession to improved graphic design is in our use of color, choosing dark grey text on an ivory background, which gives a more soothing paper-like effect than black on white.
